I am a visual artist who is excited by both expected and serendipitous results of materials. I often operate with this phrase in mind: "I wonder what would happen if..." Although I have a theme or idea in mind, I've been known to veer off that "track" if the materials have another beautiful or curious direction in mind. I try to move out of the way or "listen" to what a particular piece wants from me.
